I have always been interested in two things: food and nutrition. Those two words ellicit thoughts of good health, but interests can be expressed in a variety of ways. For a long time, my love of food included many fried items, fatty dipping sauces and lots of one-dimensional flavor. But I never stopped reading about healthy, power food items.

Soon entering my thirties, my body no longer gives me the liberty to enjoy any food on a whim. Carbonated beverages and fried food still taste good, but now they leave a bitter taste in my mental mouth, as I know the result will be a lingering food hangover.

Over a process of months, I have slowly changed my eating habits to include less processed and refined grains and more whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and from scratch recipes.

It’s time to start making this healthy food taste better than my fried preferences ever did. Welcome – to Cooking, Made Over.
